Plaza Brasserie at ParkRoyal Beach Road

ParkRoyal Beach Road isn't the most convenient hotel to go nor the most visually appealing (c'mon, the building's been around for quite some time!). Without a good reason, you won't find yourself crossing over to Beach Road from Haji Lane.

But there's a good reason now.

From now till May 31, Plaza Brasserie brings you the Best of Asia: Seafood Fiesta daily.

The Asian theme sees live stations from East Asia to South Asia.

Begin with their extensive selection of appetizers such as Fresh Prawns on Sesame Toast, Spicy Squid Salad, Tangy Crabmeat Cake with Coriander Leaves and Baked Whole Salmon. Skip the Oyster Shooters though; they’re a little fishy and pungent.

Head over to the Sushi and Sashimi live station for freshly sliced Tuna, Salmon, Octopus and more. The Sushi are replenished in small batches to ensure freshness.

For more seafood, check out the Seafood on Ice station for Black Mussels, Tiger Prawns, Australian Queen Scallops, Fresh Oysters and Flower Crabs.

Apart from fresh and chilled seafood, there is also a selection of hot seafood items, such as White Clams, Lala, Fresh Prawns, Bamboo Clams and Green Mussels stir-fried in your choice of Black Bean sauce, XO sauce, Black Pepper or Thai Chilli sauce. Crabs are stir-fried in three ways: Egg Yolk, Black Pepper or Chilli. Be prepared to get down and dirty – the crabs (especially the egg yolk variant) are finger lickin’ good.

On top of the above-mentioned seafood spread, Red Garoupa and Sea Bass are also available on Mondays to Thursdays in two ways: Hong Kong or Thai style.

Savour the familiar Roti Prata with a variety of toppings, including the unfamiliar and innovative Durian Roti Prata, at the Prata live station. The marriage of crispy savory Indian pastry and the sweetness of durian would leave you asking for more.

Wrap up with hot desserts such as Yam Paste with Ginko Nuts, Buber Cha Cha, Red Bean Paste, Cheng Tng and Tau Suan. A variety of cakes, tarts and mini French pastries are available too to go with free-flow of coffee and a selection of Twinnings teas.
