This Pearl of the Orient left me in awe as it glows at night, illuminating the entire night sky. The sprawling metropolis is a dining heaven and architecture trove. This is where I had the best century egg.

Tsim Tsa Shui is a prime shopping district and a haven for yummy food.
Tolo Harbour, located near the Hyatt Regency Sha Tin is a relaxing place that reveals a different side of Hong Kong.

To the west, the former Portuguese colony may be famous for its casinos but it is the quaint streets of the heritage center that attracted me. Despite heavy presence of tourism, this city retains its historic charm and serves some pretty tasty Portuguese Egg Tarts.

Restaurante Escada, a typical tourist restaurant serving "Portuguese" food.


SEE:
Senado Square is part of the charming heritage center of Macau.
The Venetian, a Venice-themed casino.
The Mandarin's House, a charming restored mansion located in the UNESCO Heritage Core of Macau.

GETTING THERE:
Take the Turbojet (roughly 140-150 HKD) or Cotaijet from Hong Kong's Sheung Wan/Kowloon or fly to Macau from Singapore with Tiger Airways or Jetstar.
